brings us to the point that the complete asshole actually has no hole at all. It’s an asshole that is not one. And, if it has no hole, then it must be full of shit.

This brings to mind Matthew Barney’s Field Dressing and Bolus:

“a mouthpiece that could also be inserted anally.” An action that would “close the circle” and seal off the body in a hermetic self-contained state

In Barney’s system the situation of the body is ceaselessly re-conditioned once it it sealed up, forming an “auto-parasitic” circuit. But Barney does warn us that to get this far, to get back to the source through bypassing ‘production’ (any form of expression or excretion) and completing the (scatophagous) circuit, you’re going to have to stick your head up your arse.

The complete asshole who, as Jodi points out, is not as complete as he likes to think, is nothing more than the turd of his phantsy. So if Dominic is as he claims a ‘complete asshole’, who in fact has no (w)hole (and is therefore “full of shit”), feeding off his own “independent source of emotional energy,” then I don’t ever want to see what he gets up to at dinner time.
